Children thought they gained (in order)
- Had fun!
- New skills
- Being active
- New friends
- Confidence
- Teamwork
Some of the things children would tell other children include:
- 'I had fun enjoying things I would not normally do'
- 'You see new people and make new friends'
- 'Activities are fabulous and a wide range of things to do'
- 'They are fab'
- 'It is great to learn new things'
- 'That it is just brilliant'
- 'Teachers and coaches are friendly and full of energy'
- 'It is fun and exciting and a great way to break up holidays'
Children thought that to make the activities better they could be longer and more of them!!
They also gave some wonderful suggestions for future activities including Athletics, Badminton, Skateboarding; Cooking; Gardening; Film Club; Judo; Tennis; Table Tennis; Computers; Break dancing and themed sessions such as James Bond or Harry Potter. These are all great ideas and I will investigate for next summer, thank you.
An independent person has selected the prize winners (one from each Primary School) for the £5 book token. A letter will be sent home at the start of next half-term and the book token will be awarded in assembly. Well done to the winners!!
63 parents returned evaluation forms - thank you.

Your views are very much appreciated and will be taken seriously when planning future holiday programmes. We have already extended the length of some sessions for October half-term which has a record 180 children and young people participating.
The overall winner of the cinema tickets has been chosen independently at random and a letter will be sent home next week. Congratulations to the winner!
Thank you to the Activity Providers who responded. Overall, the response was very positive, with all providers enjoying working with the children who participated seeing them learn new and different skills and gaining in confidence. Providers made a few suggestions for future improvements; some of which have been incorporated into the October half-term programme. All providers are very happy to continue to work with the NECIP....thankfully!!
And finally.............a huge thank you to the providers for running fantastic activities; to the parents for encouraging and supporting their children to take part and to the children and young people for taking part. The programme was independently ‘quality assured’ with excellent results for interaction, play value and children’s independence. I visited many of the sessions and always saw happy, smiling children mostly engrossed in what they were doing!
